Palo Alto Chili

Palo Alto Chili

(This is usually an all-day project for me, I like to slow-cook my chili)

Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 hot peppers, diced (your choice of jalapeno, habanero, etc)
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 40 oz can kidney beans, drained
  • 40 oz can pinto beans, drained
  • 28 oz can tomato sauce
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 bottle Palo Alto Fire Fighter Pepper Sauce
Instructions:

Cook ground beef/turkey in large pot with onion, peppers, chili powder, cumin and cayenne, until meat is thoroughly cooked.

Add remaining ingredients except Palo Alto Fire Fighter Pepper Sauce (note: do NOT drain, the spices infuse the oil/meat from the meat, which is the secret to good chili).

Cook over medium heat until sauce just begins to bubble, add 301 Palo Alto Fire Fighter Pepper Sauce, stir, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2 to 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes or so).

Serve with chips and shredded cheese.
