Smokey Mustard Chicken and Dumplings

Ingredients:

Dumplings:

  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions:

Place chicken breasts in slow cooker. Pour Fischer & Wieser Sweet, Sour & Smokey Mustard Sauce over. Cover & allow to cook 6 hours. Prepare dumplings by combining flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or two knives until it resembles coarse meal. Drizzle milk over and combine. Remove chicken from slow cooker & set aside; keep warm. Drop dumplings by teaspoonfuls into simmering sauce in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 20-25 minutes until dumplings are cooked through, fluffy, and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serves 4
