Irish Apple Cake

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons White Balsamic Vinegar
  • ¼ cup sugar – I prefer whole, raw sugar, original recipe calls for white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 cup Extravagonzo Red Chili Culinary Oil
  • 1 lemon, zest grated
  • 1 tart apple diced ¾” +/-
  • 1¾ cups applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  3. Mix flour, Balsamic vinegar, sugar, and salt together in a bowl.
  4. Beat in egg yolks,  Extravagonzo Red Chili Culinary Oil, and lemon zest until dough is thoroughly mixed.
  5. Mix apple, applesauce, cinnamon, and cloves together in a small bowl.
  6. Press half the dough into the prepared baking pan; spread applesauce mixture over dough in a layer. Top with remaining dough.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until cake is browned, 40 to 45 minutes.
