Product Description
Walkerswood Spicy Jamaican Jerk Marinade is an authentic and traditional style Jamaican Jerk Sauce. It is a bit more spicy than the average Jerk Sauce, but we are Peppers of Key West after all. Just in case you are new to sauces or Peppers of Key West, Jerking is a traditional style of barbecuing used to marinate meat or fish before grilling or roasting. Generally, the meat is soaked and lathered in jerk sauce and then slow cooked over a lower heat, for a pretty good long time. The result is an amazingly tasty meal with a truly Caribbean flare.
At Peppers of Key West, we live every day in the Caribbean. Sure, most people don’t think of any part of the US as being in the Caribbean, but the fact is undeniable and once you visit us, you’ll agree. The culture is distinctly American, but one can’t deny that we are probably closer to an island culture than we are to the “mainland.” Things move a bot slower and the attitude is a bit looser. That’s important here because folks tend to want to rush their Jamaican Jerk cooking, and that’s an island “no-no.” Rushed jerk is like, well a rushed jerk. The flavor is only skin deep and the meat tends to be dry and tough. So, take your time, mix up a mojito and slow cook your jerk. You’ll be rewarded with a delicious mental vacation to the Caribbean.
