Iguana Mean Green Hot Sauce is a product of Costa Rica and if you enjoy the slight tang of jalapeno peppers you’re going to love this sauce. Believe it or not, it’s a carrot based sauce and the fact it’s still green is a testament to the amount of jalapeno they use. If you are fan of jalapeno, you will love Iguana Mean Green Hot Sauce with it’s signature sweet and tangy taste. You can use Iguana Mean Green anywhere you would normally use your favorite hot sauce, but may we suggest using it to liven up salsa verde and tomatillo sauce? I think we just did.

With a more mild heat than other sauces in the Iguana hot sauce line, Mean Green comes in at a 3 out of 10 on the Peppers of Key West Heat Level Rating. That’s just spicy enough for even the most timid of eaters to enjoy. Well, maybe not the most timid, but timid by chilihead standards anyway. It’s packed full of jalapeno flavor and sweetness and we are big fans of the Iguana sauces. One of our favorites for this hot sauce is to make guacamole with it. Yes, it is as good as it sounds.
